Our week in review.

It has been a great week at school. Routines are being followed more and more each day, the children are respecting our authority a bit more, and relationships with them are delving deeper. I keep coming back to the thought of the genetic lottery that we are all somewhat a part of. (Not taking for granted that, I believe, that God is in control of family situations- but, that there is no reason why I deserved to have grown up with a family who took great care of me, was able to provide financially for my needs and loved me unconditionally. Looking at these kids it is hard to understand how anyone wouldn't just innately want to care for them, though. It all comes back to the realization that we are blessed and we ought to thank the One who gave us all things. Nothing more than that.

Enjoy the pictures from our week!
Roxanne and Misa who was wearing a snow jacket because it was "cooler" this day- a mere 75 degrees! We were all cracking up when we saw that the kids were in winter gear in such hot weather! I also spotted a guy wearing a puffy, down jacket on this day!!
Jenny testing the children to see what letters and numbers they know.
We take the time each day to give each child a cup of water. It is bottled water, which is probably the best water they have all day. They get really excited about their portion and drink it down pretty quickly. Today we had a special treat for them- cookies! (Or, biscuits, as they call them here.) Each child wolfed down their three biscuits and were very happy! See the little one below to see his cookies in hand!

A woman in Kunduchi village cooking food that she sells to other villagers. This is how most women work from home and earn a bit of money for their family.
